WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, Congressman Bill Delahunt’s Foreign Affairs Subcommittee will hold the latest in a series of hearings on the Iraqi Refugee Crisis. This hearing will examine the crisis from the perspective of non-governmental organizations that are working on the ground providing much needed aid to refugees and internally displaced persons (“IDPs”).
In association with the Middle East Subcommittee, Delahunt has held two previous hearings examining the plight of the Iraqis who have been displaced by the war and sectarian violence. Over 2.7 million Iraqis are internally displaced (the “IDPs”) and another 2 million have fled to neighboring countries.
