Delahunt To Sponsor Forum On Applying For Federal Grants

03/31/2008

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bill Delahunt announced this week that he will sponsor a public forum in Orleans later this month, with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to help non-profit organizations and municipal officials navigate the complex process of applying for federal funding.

“With local organizations facing growing demands for services and fewer resources, every dollar counts,” Delahunt said. “Our workshop is designed to demystify the federal funding process and help local organizations identify potential funding resources using new online resources.”

The forum on applying for federal grants is scheduled for 1PM on Thursday, April 10 at the Snow Library, 67 Main Street, Orleans.

On hand will be representatives of the US Department of Health and Human Services.   The workshop will include information on how to use the latest online grants information resources such as “Grants.gov” a central clearinghouse for over 1,000 grant programs and access to approximately $400 billion in annual awards.   The program is free and open to the public.

For reservations and further details contact Rep. Delahunt’s office toll-free at 1-800-794-9911. Delahunt will also sponsor forums on Martha’s Vineyard and on the South Shore.
