On July 15, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi administered the oath of office to Dan Strodel, appointing him Chief Administrative Officer. Strodel replaced former Chief Administrative Officer Dan Beard.

Strodel brings to the position broad government management experience.

Most recently serving as a senior advisor to the Committee on House Administration (CHA), Strodel's House experience includes positions with the Office of the Clerk, the Office of the Sergeant at Arms and the CAO. Strodel's more than 25 years on Capitol Hill also include work with the Office of the Sergeant at Arms of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. Capitol Police.

In his position with CHA, Strodel advised the committee on management and oversight of the CAO and other operations. Speaker Pelosi lauded Strodel's experience and strong management skills, emphasizing that Strodel would continue the CAO's initiatives to green the Capitol, ensure accountability and transparency and improve cyber security.

House Administration Chairman Robert A. Brady echoed Pelosi's confidence in Strodel. "He has senior management and leadership experience including human resources and financial management and has fostered strong positive relationships with Members and staff on both sides of the aisle," Brady said.
