Congressman Altmire is consistently rated as one of Congress' most independent members. In fact, Congressional Quarterly Weekly – a non-partisan, Capitol Hill publication – recently identified Congressman Altmire as having one of the most independent voting records in Congress in 2009.
National Journal --another non-partisan publication -- found that Congressman Altmire’s voting record in 2009 was more conservative than 53.5 percent of House Members’, placing him to the right of center. For more information, click here.
