WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) was recognized by the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR) for having a perfect voting record during the second session of the 111th Congress. LCCR is the nation’s oldest, largest and most diverse civil and human rights coalition.
“The Civil Rights Movement played an important role in shaping the country we live in today,” said Congressman Cohen. “And the movement continues on as we seek to end ethnic disparities in the criminal justice system, end sexual discrimination, increase election integrity, and protect the rights of gays and lesbians. It is an honor to be recognized by LCCR for my efforts and voting record.”
