Virginia
While my staff and I regularly engage in high profile issues at the national level, I am most proud of the work we have done closer to home for the people of Virginia. Since joining the Senate in 2007, we have enjoyed considerable success on projects such as the extension of Metrorail to Dulles Airport; military procurement, construction and maintenance in Hampton Roads; expansion of technology to rural communities across the Commonwealth; preservation of Virginia’s historic battlefields, national parks, and wildlife refuges; and new environmental protections for the Chesapeake Bay and public lands.

To gain greater knowledge of the issues facing localities and initiatives that are underway across the Commonwealth, my staff and I continually engage with city and town council members, boards of supervisors, school board members, agency heads and community leaders.  These conversations have been valuable in shaping my legislative agenda.

I have and will continue to work with Senator Mark Warner and the entire Virginia delegation on projects vital to you and the region.
