lemay_access_road_ribbon_cuttingAs a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Congressman Carnahan believes maintaining an efficient, multi model transportation system is critical to the St. Louis region.  Congressman Carnahan continues to advocate for better roads in St. Louis and surrounding cities in order to reduce congestion, but more importantly improve the safety of motorists.

Every part of the Third District is touched by a river, including the Mississippi, Missouri, and Big River. As a member of the Subcommittee on Water Resources and the Environment, Congressman Carnahan has worked to secure authorization and funding for critical water resource projects important to the St. Louis region, including the reconstruction of the St. Louis Floodwall and elimination of the combined sewer overflow in St. Louis City and County.

As a member of the Aviation Subcommittee, Congressman Carnahan advocates for greater airline safety.  Congressman Carnahan has supported legislation to improve the Federal Aviation Administration's consumer safety programs.  He is also working to find solutions to reduce airline delays.

On the national front, Congressman Carnahan has been a strong proponent of road safety and he has been fighting for legislation to make our nations' roads safer.  He also believes in making sure that our bridges and tunnels are structurally sound and safe.
