Education Reform
Education Reform Alaska is not alone in having to face unique challenges as it struggles to educate its children. Each state in this country has geographic, economic, or cultural barriers that prevent its schools from reaching the level of success mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). As a former teacher, I am committed to providing our nation’s children with the best possible education. I firmly believe in the original goals of NCLB, but I understand that a “one size fits all” approach to student achievement is not possible. Congress passed NCLB five years ago, and it is time we address the law’s shortcomings and pass meaningful reform legislation. Related Documents:
