House Foreign Affairs Committee
The House Foreign Affairs Committee has oversight over legislation relating to diplomatic relations, foreign assistance, the Peace Corps, national security developments affecting international relations, arms control, international sanctions, peacekeeping efforts, policies of the State, Commerce, and Defense Departments, the global promotion of democracy and human rights, and other international issues. Congressman Deutch serves on the Middle East Subcommittee, the Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights, and Oversight, and the Europe Subcommittee.
House Judiciary Comittee
The House Judiciary Committee has oversight over legislation relating to judicial proceedings, both civil and criminal, administration of the courts, the apportionment of congressional districts, issues surrounding bankruptcy, mutiny, espionage, and counterfeiting, civil rights and liberties, constitutional amendments, criminal law enforcements, federal courts and judges, immigration policy and non-border enforcement, claims against the United States, national penitentiaries, copyright and trademark law, and other issues. Congressman Deutch serves on the Crime Subcommittee.
