$250 Rebate Checks Do Little to Solve Larger Issue
Washington,
Jun 11 -
Washington D.C. – On Thursday, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) began to distribute $250 checks to those Medicare beneficiaries who fall into the so-called “doughnut hole” gap. U.S. Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (FL-05) released the following statement on the matter:
“For the less than 10% of Medicare beneficiaries who fall into the so-called ‘doughnut hole’, these checks will provide them with minimal relief. But in the end, it will be like throwing a gallon of water on a forest fire. The reality is it will be another ten years before the ‘doughnut hole’ will be closed. During that time, Obamacare will increase every Medicare Part D beneficiaries’ premiums by more than 9%.
“It doesn’t matter how many $250 checks the President passes out or press conferences he holds. At it’s core, this is a bad bill. The Majority of Americans believe this and they will remember it when they go to the polls in November.”
