Washington, Nov 10 -

Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) issued the following statement to honor the nation’s servicemembers and veterans on this Veterans Day:

“I am proud that we as a nation have set aside Veterans Day to pay tribute to all the brave men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States of America,” expressed Bono Mack. “As we celebrate this Veterans Day, let us especially remember those heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice, those who never made it home to be celebrated as veterans, but whose sacrifice and courage in honor of country will never be forgotten.

“We as a nation owe our deepest gratitude to the many heroes both past and present who have helped shape our country into what it is today, and who have fought to preserve the rights and liberties we enjoy.

“As the daughter of a World War II Veteran, I learned from a young age the value of freedom and have the utmost respect for all who have served our nation in the line of duty.

“Our nation's veterans have been there when our country needed them the most, and it is essential that we continue to honor our commitment to them and their wellbeing. I will continue to work in Congress on behalf of our nation's veterans, and on this Veterans Day, it is my hope that the residents of Riverside County, and across the country, will join me in taking time to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to those who have served our country.”
