Miller: Gratitude to Those Who Sacrificed for Our Nation

Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today released the following statement for Veterans Day:

“On Veterans Day, Americans pause to honor those who have made sacrifices in the name of our nation’s security and protection. Throughout our history, brave members of the armed forces have stood up for American’s freedom. They and their families have carried the burden for every citizen of our nation and we honor their service and sacrifice. It is written on the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C - “freedom isn’t free” – the cost is readily apparent in the rows of crosses in Arlington, where many generations of American warriors have been laid to rest. This day is also a reminder to honor the families of our warriors whose family member has dedicate their time, efforts and in many cases given the ultimate sacrifice, their lives, to the service of our nation.

“On this day honoring our Veterans, we are reminded that there are currently more than 150,000 men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and numerous others serving our nation around the world. Every brave member of our military forces is representing those who served before them and are carrying on their mission. We owe all of the men and women who have served our nation gratitude for a debt that can never be fully repaid.”
