Congresswoman Miller Presents Veteran with Service Medals

Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) offered her congratulations to Mario Kalmeta of Sterling Heights, MI, a U.S. Army veteran, as he was presented with medals and ribbons honoring his military service on Veterans Day.

“It’s an honor to recognize the military service of Mario Kalemeta, especially on Veteran’s Day offering our gratitude to our nation’s Veterans,” said Miller. “Mario is receiving his service medals since his honorable discharge from the Army and on behalf of a grateful nation we honor his service. Our brave veterans and their families sacrificed so much on our behalf and deserve our thanks for a debt that can never really be repaid.”

Mr. Mario Kalmeta was stationed in Germany with a cavalry unit prior to serving in Vietnam in the infantry from July 1965 – September 1966. After his discharge, Mr. Kalmeta lived in Detroit and worked as a foreman in a steel company. Since 1972, Mr. Kalmeta has resided in Sterling Heights.
