District 9

Located along Florida's Gulf Coast, the 9th Congressional District spans parts of suburban Hillsborough, western Pasco and northern Pinellas counties.

In the vicinity of the Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater metropolitan area, the constituents of the 9th District contribute significantly to Florida's economy.

The 9th District is comprised of towns and cities that contain many hidden treasures and rich histories.

One of America's automobile pioneers, Ranson E. Olds, founded and developed what is today the City of Oldsmar, while America's early film industry has some of its roots in the Gulf Coast City of New Port Richey, which hosted many filmmakers and actors producing some of the nation's first silent films.

Safety Harbor is home to U.S. Historical Landmark Espiritu Santo Springs ("Springs of the Holy Spirit"), which is a natural mineral spring named by Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, who landed in the area in 1539.

The 9th District is also rich in culture and tradition.

Plant City is home to Florida's Annual Strawberry Festival.  Originally intended to unite communities through the celebration of the strawberry harvest, today thousands converge on the fairgrounds each year to participate in the two-week festival.

Emblematic of its strong Mediterranean heritage, Tarpon Springs is home to the largest Epiphany Feast celebration in the United States and the historic Sponge Docks.

These are just a few of the many great things that define Florida’s 9th Congressional District.
