FEMA ASSISTANCE REGISTRATIONINFORMATION
HOW TO REGISTER: Individuals may register for FEMA assistance by phone at:
1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or by e-mail at www.FEMA.gov.
Those in the counties designated for assistance to affected residents and business owners can begin the disaster application process. The toll-free telephone numbers are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) Monday through Sunday until further notice. Applicants registering for aid should be prepared to provide basic information about themselves (name, permanent address, phone number), insurance coverage and any other information to help substantiate losses.
FEMA also provides money for temporary housing and for repair and replacement of damaged homes.

CHECKING THE STATUSOF YOUR APPLICATION:
Individuals may check the status of their application by phone at:
1-800-621-FEMA (3362); Press 3 for the help line, or go to
www.fema.gov/assistance/index.shtm.
You must have an email address to create your account access. Your e-mail address is the only way a PIN can be sent to you; the PIN is required to access your personal account. You may wish to consider creating an email address through one of the numerous public providers. The PIN will be created and sent to the e-mail address provided when you created your application access account. You should receive your PIN at the email address listed on your account creation within 24 hours.

YOUWILL NEED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CREATE THE ACCOUNT:
Title, first and last name, address, contact phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, Social
Security number (Note: to access your FEMA application, the name, address, and personal information must be the same as that used to register for disaster assistance.)

LOCAL ASSISTANCE CENTER LOCATIONS
The local assistance centers will serve as efficient one-stop sources for disaster relief services including information on how to replace records lost in the fires, file insurance claims and apply for assistance and housing.
The hours of operation for the centers are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. As of Nov. 5, the
Rancho Bernardo-Glassman Recreation Center in San Diego will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The San Diego Office of Emergency Services can be reached at 858-565-3490.

HELPING THOSE INNEED
AMERICAN RED CROSS

HOMEOWNER AND SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
Homeowners may borrow up to $200,000 at a fixed rate of 2.937 percent to repair or replace homes not fully covered by insurance or other aid and up to $40,000 to replace personal property. Businesses may borrow up to $1.5 million at a fixed interest rate of 4 percent. Applicants must first register as a disaster victim with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Information will be automatically forwarded to the SBA or contact the agency directly by calling 1-800-659-2955 or visiting one of the four local assistance centers listed above.

In addition, the state’s Small Business Disaster Loan Guarantee Program will leverage $500,000 to guarantee up to $7 million in loans to small businesses affected by the Southern California fires. For more, contact the Financial Development Corporation: 619-232-7771 or online at casouth.com .
