Algae Fuel Press Conference: Congressman Bilbray is one of the leading voices on Capitol Hill for the development of algae fuel as a future source of an affordable, renewable and alternative form of energy. In these images, Congressman Bilbray heralds the Algaeus, the first Electric-Algae hybrid vehicle to cross the entire country. The algae in the vehicle was supplied by a San Diego company. 9/11 Ceremony for San Diego First Responders: On September 11th, 2009, Congressman Bilbray's District Office organized a memorial ceremony for North County's first responders. President Reagan Statue Unveiling: As a fellow Californian, Congressman Bilbray was honored to be invited to the unveiling of the President Reagan statue in the Rotunda of the United States Capitol. In attendance was Mrs. Reagan, James A. Baker III, Speaker of the House and Fellow Californian Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Philippine President Arroyo Visits U.S. Capitol: Congressman Bilbray was honored to receive President Arroyo as she visited the United States Capitol. For Congressman Bilbray's efforts to work with the Filipino community of San Diego, President Arroyo presented him with a state gift cementing the relationship between Congressman Bilbray and the Republic of the Philippines. Bi-Partisan San Diego Delegation Visits The National Institutes Of Health: Congressman Brian Bilbray was accompanied by Congresswoman Susan Davis to visit a number of programs at the National Institutes of Health. During the visit, Congressman Bilbray was able to question the heads of the Clinical Research Center, the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), the Metabolic Clinical Research Unit, the Urologic Oncology Branch of the Center for Cancer Research, the Traumatic Stress Program and the Developmental Neuroscience Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health and the Genetic Disease Research Branch of the National Human Genome Research Institute.
