Service Academy Nominations

All students admitted to our nation's military Service Academies must first be nominated by at least one member of their state's Congressional Delegation.

Senator Bennet is committed to help Colorado students pursue their dreams at one of the military Service Academies. Interested individuals compete with other applicants from across the State for nominations to the following academies:

(Admission to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Congressional nomination)

Applicants must be:

  • U.S. citizens
  • legal residents of Colorado (or dependents of military members who are Colorado residents)
  • unmarried with no children
  • at least 17 years of age (but not past their 23rd birthday on July 1 of the entry year)

All applicants should also apply directly to the academies and ask that a pre-candidate file be opened for them. In addition, all applicants are required to take the SAT or ACT. Interested individuals should contact Senator Bennet in the spring of their junior year of High School.

Senator Bennet bases his selections on the students' academic records, extracurricular and community activities, test scores, as well as letters of recommendation from individuals in and out of the school environment. To apply for a nomination, please download, print and complete the Application for Nomination form, and send it to the address on the application. BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE CHECKLIST BELOW BEFORE SENDING YOUR APPLICATION TO SENATOR BENNET.
