Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) today issued the following statement after the Iranian government released Potomac, Maryland resident Haleh Esfandiari on bail today:

"This is encouraging news and a good first step," said Congressman Van Hollen. "I will keep working to ensure that Dr. Esfandiari is reunited with her family in Maryland as soon as possible."
