Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) announced that he will host office hours in advance of the June 12th nationwide switch from analog to digital television (DTV) service. The office hours will provide an opportunity for people to ask questions and receive information about the switch.
Areas of the 11th Congressional District are considered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to be a “hotspot” where consumers will need additional support to make the transition to DTV.
The office hours will kick-off on Tuesday, June 9th with representatives from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on hand in both the Congressman’s Stockton and Pleasanton offices. Congressman McNerney’s staff will continue the office hours in the subsequent days. Consumers who currently use an antenna to receive a signal on their TV set will need to set-up a converter box to continue receiving service after the switch. Coupons are available to help consumers purchase converter boxes and the form to apply for this coupon will be available at Congressman McNerney’s office hours.
