Tri-Valley Green Business Conference Tomorrow, McNerney Issues Reminder PDF Print E-mail

Dublin, CA – Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) today issued a reminder that he will hold a Tri-Valley Green Business Conference to provide information about federal, state, local and private resources to grow local green businesses.  The conference will take place in Dublin tomorrow, Wednesday, September 8th at the Shannon Community Center, located at 11600 Shannon Avenue.  Registration for the event will start at 1:00 p.m. and the conference will run from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The event will be headlined with remarks by Erik Stenehjem, Steering Committee Member of Innovation Tri-Valley and Director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Industrial Partnerships Office.  Innovation Tri-Valley is an organization that supports job creation, training for skilled workers and programs in secondary and higher education, in addition to promoting partnerships between Lawrence Livermore and Sandia National Laboratories and private sector businesses.

Following his remarks, a series of panel discussions will take place on resources available to green businesses.  The panels will be headlined by Elizabeth Echols, Region IX Administrator, Small Business Administration (SBA) and Bob Borchers, General Partner, Opus Capital.

Ms. Echols oversees the delivery of the SBA’s programs and services in California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and Guam.  She previously served as Director of the Northern California chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council as well as Director of Policy at Google.

At Opus Capital, Mr. Borchers focuses on investments in mobile applications and services as well as adjacent opportunities in both hardware and software.  He previously served as Apple, Inc.’s Sr. Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for the iPhone and has over 20 years experience in mobile and consumer marketing.
