Stockton & Pleasanton, CA – Today, Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) announced that he is accepting applications for internship positions available in his Stockton, Pleasanton and Washington, D.C. offices. These internships are designed to engage students who are interested in civics and government and want hands-on experience in a congressional office.
“I encourage students who are interested in public service and learning about a congressional office to apply for an internship in one of my offices,” Rep. McNerney said. “It is an excellent way to gain professional experience and to serve our community.”
College and post-graduate students are eligible to apply for internships in any of Congressman McNerney’s offices. Applications from high school students are considered on a case-by-case basis for internships in the Stockton and Pleasanton offices. All internship positions are unpaid and serve to provide professional and educational value to participants. The Congressman's office will work with educational institutions that award academic credit for internships.
To apply for a position in either the Stockton or Pleasanton office, mail or fax a cover letter and resume to the respective office. Mail delivery to D.C. is delayed due to security, so applicants are encouraged to fax a cover letter and resume.
