McNerney Announces Additional Small Business & Economic Development Workshop Participants PDF Print E-mail

Stockton, CA – Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) today announced an additional group of speakers that will participate in the Small Business and Economic Development Workshop in Stockton on Monday, March 1, 2010.  

The new speakers are:

  • Dr. Pamela Eibeck, President, University of the Pacific
  • Fran Aguilera, Economic Development Director, Employment and Economic Development Department of San Joaquin County
  • Jerry R. Avila, Regional Manager, International Trade Programs, U.S. Small Business Administration
  • Frank Ferral, Public Policy Director, Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce
  • Jim Hoffman, Senior Business Development Officer, Safe Credit Union
  • Dr. Jeffrey Michael, Director of the Business Forecasting Center, University of the Pacific
  • Christella Sanchez, Stakeholder Liaison Specialist, Internal Revenue Service

Speakers at the workshop will present hands-on resources available for small businesses and economic development, including information on business training, tax incentives, export opportunities and access to capital, including small business loans, and venture capital.

  • Jim O’ Neal, District Director, Small Business Administration Sacramento Office
  • Gillian Murphy, Director, Small Business Development Center, San Joaquin Delta College
  • Mike Locke, President and CEO, San Joaquin Partnership
  • Mark Plovnik, Director of Economic Development, University of the Pacific
  • Raymond Yeong, Senior Consultant, Northern California Minority Business Enterprise Center, U.S. Department of Commerce

The workshop will be held on Monday, March 1st at the University of the Pacific’s DeRosa Center, located at 3601 Pacific Avenue in Stockton. Registration will begin at 1:00 p.m., and the event will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
