September 18, 2009

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11) announced today that he will honor Police Specialist Lisa Campbell, who hails from San Ramon, for her heroic work.

Lisa Campbell, manager of the UC Berkeley Police Department Special Events Unit, played a key role in finding Jaycee Dugard, who was reportedly held captive for 18 years.  With help from a fellow member of the police department, Ms. Campbell set the wheels in motion that led to the location of Ms. Dugard and the arrest of her alleged captors.

On Monday, September 21st at 5:00 p.m., Congressman McNerney will hold an event to recognize Lisa Campbell at City Hall in San Ramon.  The Congressman will present her with an official Congressional Record Statement that was added to the record of the U.S. House of Representatives in her honor.

Elected officials and community members from throughout the area will also be on hand to thank Ms. Campbell, including Assemblymember Joan Buchanon, Mayor H. Abram Wilson, Supervisor Mary Piepho, and representatives from State Senator Mark De Saulnier's office, the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, and law enforcement personnel.
