Kanjorski and Casey Meet With Young Constituents and Sister Adrian Barrett
WASHINGTON - Congressman Paul E. Kanjorski (PA-11) and Senator Robert P. Casey today met with about 300 of their young constituents who were visiting the nation's capital with Sister Adrian Barrett and the Friends of the Poor, a non-profit organization based in Scranton. Both legislators took questions from the audience ranging from Iraq to immigration.
"Sister Adrian is an extraordinary woman with a kind heart whose generosity knows no bounds. I am pleased to have been able to meet with her group for the fifth time this year since Scranton became part of my Congressional District. The children who come to Washington each year have a fantastic opportunity not only to learn about our nation's capital, but more importantly, to see what it means to serve others through Sister Adrian's example," Congressman Kanjorski said.
This year marked the twenty-second annual Summer Learning Trip run by Sister Adrian and the Friends of the Poor.
