Kanjorski Announces Application Period Open for Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program
WASHINGTON - Congressman Paul E. Kanjorski (PA-11) today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program application period has begun and will end at 5 p.m. on May 4.
Grant applications are available online at http://www.firegrantsupport.com/, http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/, and http://www.grants.gov/. An applicant tutorial is available online. Congressman Kanjorski was among 286 cosponsors of the FIRE Act of 2000. More than $11.5 million in federal grants has been awarded to fire companies in the 11th congressional district since the FIRE grant program began. To date, 101 fire companies in the 11th congressional district have benefited from this federal grant program.
