 Kanjorski Encourages Local Fire Departments to Attend Grant Workshop

WASHINGTON - Congressman Paul E. Kanjorski (PA-11) today encouraged local fire department representatives to learn more about the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program at a workshop at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at St. Mary's Center, 320 Mifflin Ave., Scranton.

Representatives from the Department of Homeland Security, which administers the grant, will explain the competitive grant program application process and discuss how to write a grant narrative.

The next application period for Firefighter Investment and Response Enhancement (FIRE) grants will open in March 2007.
