Congressman John Larson of Connecticut, Vice Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, delivered the Democratic Radio Address this morning. In his address, Congressman Larson discusses energy legislation the New Direction Congress will bring forward to combat rising energy and gas prices and to ensure our energy independence. Larson explains, “for eight years, two oilmen in the White House have crafted this country’s energy policy…Barack Obama summed up our sentiment on this Bush-McCain policy, in one word: enough!”

Poll after poll shows that energy will be the most important issue on voters' minds this election.  The American people want congress to tackle the rising cost of gas and oil and they want long term solutions to our looming energy crisis.  Congressman Larson will lay out the debate that occurred on this important issue in Washington.  He will talk about the policies that came to the floor including oil speculation, increasing domestic production and releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.  He will take questions and also talk about where the debate goes from here and what progress is likely to be made when Congress returns to Washington in September.  All members of the public are invited to attend.
