On August 13, 2008, Congressman Holden toured and met with the employees of the Lebanon-based Kauffman's Animal Health, Inc. Since 1978, Kauffman's Animal Health, Inc. has produced feed products and premixes for chickens, livestock, and horses.

 

On August 13, 2008, Congressman Holden congratulated the employees of Prescott Quarry, in Eastern Lebanon, who went15 consecutive Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regular inspections with out a citation. This achievement makes Prescott Quarry fifth on the national level for mine safety.

 

On August 13, 2008, Congressman Holden awarded the Kutztown Volunteer Fire Department of Myerstown with a $28,500 FEMA grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. This program awards grants to fire departments to enhance their ability to protect the public and fire service personnel from fire and related hazards.

 

Members of the Prescott Fire Company in Lebanon and Congressman Holden celebrated the arrival of the Company's new tanker truck. In 2005, the Prescott Fire Company was awarded a $232,750 FEMA grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, which helped fund the purchase of the new tanker truck.

 

August 13, 2008, Congressman Holden joined members of the Community Fire Company of Frystown to award the fire company with $42,560 FEMA grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

 

On July 2, 2008, Congressman Holden presented the Derry Township Industrial and Commercial Development Authority with a Federal Transit Administration Grant worth $65,000. This grant provides funding toward the construction of the Hershey Intermodal Transportation Center and Parking Garage in Derry Township, just south of Hershey Park in downtown Hershey.

 

Rep. Holden joined South Londonderry Township and regional transportation officials in a ground breaking ceremony on July 28, 2008 at the Campbelltown Connector. The Connector is a new road that twill connect existing State Route 117(Forge Road,) State Route 3019 (Palmyra Road,) and State Route 3017 (Lingle Avenue.) The connector will relieve congestion on U.S. Route 322 through Campbelltown and accommodate traffic flow in the regional corridor.

 

On Oct. 20, 2008, Rep. Holden visited The UPS Store #2204, just North of Harrisburg on Linglestown Road. Dave Carduff, Ann Mudgett, and Donna Zumbo greeted Rep. Holden, as well as gave him a tour around the store.
