Internship Program

Congressman John Lewis, Representative for the 5th district of Georgia, seeks interns for his Washington, DC and District offices. Interns will work in a fast-paced Congressional Office, gaining valuable experience and knowledge of the United States Congress. Interns will gain practical experience while assisting Congressional staff, and have the opportunity to acquire a working knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the Legislative branch.  Responsibilities include greeting constituents, handling phone calls, supporting staff with administrative tasks, conducting legislative research, and assisting with special projects and assignments.

Successful candidates are undergraduate students and recent college graduates with a strong academic background and interest in public service or government as demonstrated by coursework or extracurricular activities. Interns must be hardworking and self-motivated, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail. All applications will be considered, however, preference is given to residents of Georgia's Fifth District.
