NM Business Develops Diabetes Screening Technology
Albuquerque, NM - Congresswoman Heather Wilson today announced a grant of about $250,000 for InLight Solutions to support their work on new technology for diabetes screening.
The grant of $249,997 is through the National Institutes of Health. It supports development of non-invasive screening for Type 2 Diabetes. The InLight instrument is called Scout, and uses light to measure advanced glycation endproducts (AGE) in the skin of the forearm, avoiding needles and pre-test fasting.
"It`s good to see New Mexico companies at the leading edge of technology that can improve people`s lives," Wilson said.
"We`re enthusiastic about Scout as an effective weapon in the war on diabetes that simplifies and expands diabetes screening, and we appreciate Congresswoman Wilson`s support for research and development in New Mexico," said Dr. Ries Robinson, CEO of InLight Solutions.
