Holiday Travel Tips from TSA November 17, 2006

Don`t be additionally delayed at airports this holiday season. TSA has tips, such as a suggestion that you leave gifts unwrapped while traveling. Source: www.tsa.gov
Are you getting ready to travel for the holidays? Be prepared before you get to the airport when flying. There may be items you won`t be able to carry on the plane with you. Many personal care items are allowed on the plane, but are restricted to 3oz. or smaller containers. Items such as first-aid creams, moisturizers, deodorants, hair stying gels, lip gels, liquid sanitizers, liquid soaps, mouthwash, and toothpaste must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. The items should be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. The bag will have to be removed from your carry-on so that it can be X-rayed. Travelers With Disabilities and Medical Conditions Photos: www.tsa.gov The following information is from Transportation Security Administration 1. All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers. Larger containers that are half-full or toothpaste tubes rolled up are not allowed. Each container must be three ounces or smaller. 2. All liquids, gels and aerosols must be placed in a single, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. Gallon size bags or bags that are not zip-top such as fold-over sandwich bags are not allowed. Each traveler can use only one, quart-size, zip-top, clear plastic bag. 3. Each traveler must remove their quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag from their carry-on and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items. If you need larger amounts of liquids, gels and aerosols such as toothpaste or shampoo, please place them in your luggage and check them with your airline. Some personal care items containing aerosol are regulated as hazardous materials. The FAA regulates hazardous materials. This information is summarized at www.faa.gov.
