REAL EXPERIENCE: Internship Opportunities for College & High School Students November 15, 2000

As part of our commitment to our community we have a college and high school internship programs. Over 30 students have worked in the District and Washington offices, 6 college students and 18 high school students. Each bring their own set of skill, knowledge and abilities to share with us. All add a fresh point of view to the work we are doing. Most of the students participate in an internship for the job experience and community service, although some also receive academic credit. For the first time this semester we have a student from TVI Service Learning Program. It is my pleasure to acknowledge the students who are currently interning in my office: District Office: Denise Del Aguila Norman Bramstedt Nick Brown Joey Gurule Lindsey Gutierrez Marie McClard Danielle McCrary Nicholas Smith Krys Vega I enjoy having students in my district office because they bring a fresh point of view to the work we’re doing. Creating this opportunity for them is part of my commitment to provide young people with meaningful work experience, interaction with positive role models and an opportunity to serve their community. Students who participate in this program: * Are available to work no less than five hours per week * Are currently enrolled in a high school or GED program * Have transportation to and from work in downtown Albuquerque If you are a student who is interested in an unpaid internship we’ll need a letter of interest with a resume, including two references. We are flexible about scheduling work hours. For more information:
