Dr. Emily Stover-DeRocco Assistant Secretary of Employment and Training Department of Labor Frances Perkins Building 200 Constitution Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20210 Dear Assistant Secretary Stover-DeRocco,
I am writing to ask your assistance in an emergency situation that has recently occurred in my district. Last week, MCI announced they are planning to close their Albuquerque call center and to lay off all 785 employees. I am very disappointed with their decision.
I have spoken to the Vice President of US Operations of MCI to ask that they reconsider their decision to close the Albuquerque call center, but in the event that they go ahead with their plans, all the employees at the MCI call center will be laid off on July 20.
I am requesting immediate assistance from your department for the affected employees. I ask that you strongly consider any National Emergency Grant request you receive and that you provide assistance through the array of programs the Department of Labor provides.
Thank you for consideration of my request.
Sincerely, Heather Wilson Member of Congress |
