Quality New Mexico Welcomes General Norman Schwarzkopf

I have long applauded the commitment of Quality New Mexico to improvements in quality in business, education, government, and healthcare in our state.

Quality New Mexico is a non-profit organization that seeks to educate New Mexicans about quality, and to promote an economic climate that will foster and enhance the prosperity of New Mexico’s citizens. I consider it my privilege to serve as Honorary Chair for this organization, along with other members of the New Mexico Delegation.

At this year’s Quality New Mexico 2000 Conference in April, the people of New Mexico will have the distinct honor of welcoming General Norman Schwarzkopf - commander of operations for Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the 1991 Persian Gulf War, and winner of three silver stars, three bronze stars, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Fun Facts
Only 21 days left until tax day. Do you know what the average federal tax refund this year is thus far?
Answer: $1,774

As of March 3, refunds averaged $1,774, up about 6 percent from the same time last year, the Internal Revenue Service says.

This is based on 46.7 million returns. About half of those returns were filed electronically, the IRS says.

You can file electronically now and defer payment of taxes you owe until April 17. You can also arrange payment by selected credit cards.
