Wilson Statement regarding resignation of House Majority Leader September 28, 2005

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today released the following statement: “Under the rules of the House, which I supported retaining, the Majority Leader has stepped aside. This allows the House to continue focusing on the needs of the nation,” Wilson said. “No single member of Congress is more important than the nation as a whole, and that’s why the Republican Conference has this rule. We have important work to do, and we will do it.” Click to read 11/18/2004 statement by Rep. Wilson opposing proposal to change House rules.
