December 11: Remarks on the Floor regarding the Auto Industry
The following are Congresswoman Kaptur's remarks on the Floor of the House of Representatives on December 10, 2008 regarding the state of the auto industry and the foreclosure crisis.
 
Dec. 6: Extended Unemployment Benefits, Approved Last Month by Congress, To Start Week of December 22
Extended unemployment benefits that were approved last month by Congress will begin just before Christmas.  Payments of extended benefits, which were approved as part of the Emergency Extended Unemployment Compensation Act, will begin the week of December 22.
 
December 5: Jobless Rate of 6.7% Will Worsen Dramatically Without Help for Auto Industry
WASHINGTON (Dec. 5) – Representative Kaptur, who returned to Washington today to attend the House hearing on a bridge loan for the Big 3 automakers, said November’s 6.7 percent national unemployment rate will “pale in comparison” to the jobless situation if the auto industry collapses.
 
December 2: Kaptur Joins LaSorda in Rally for Chrysler in Toledo
Congresswoman Kaptur joined Chrysler President Tom LaSorda at the Chrysler Jeep Supplier Park in Toledo to rally support for a bridge loan for the Big 3 automakers.
