Wilson Announces Jobs in Albuquerque June 01, 2004

Forest Service Moving Office to New Mexico

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service is relocating its Budget and Finance offices to Albuquerque.

The current offices throughout the country will be centered in Albuquerque, employing about 300 to 400 people, many of whom are expected to be current employees who would be offered the opportunity to move to Albuquerque. The Department of Agriculture expects to transition the office sometime starting in 2005.

“Albuquerque makes sense as a center for Forest Service offices. This action will create stable jobs in Albuquerque for years to come,” Wilson said. “I look forward to welcoming new residents and new jobs to the Land of Enchantment.”
