| Wilson Applauds Flight Service Jobs in NM |

Albuquerque, NM -- Rep. Heather Wilson reacted today to news that the Federal Aviation Administration will consolidate Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS) services throughout the nation and that Albuquerque will be one of 20 sites that will provide the services, through a contract with Lockheed Martin. There are currently 58 sites nation-wide.
“I applaud the FAA for their selection of Albuquerque as one of the sites that will continue to provide this service,” said Wilson. “This is good news for our economy, as these jobs will remain in our state. And there is a potential for job growth in Albuquerque as the FAA and Lockheed Martin consolidate the 58 existing sites into the various sites across the nation, which include Albuquerque. I also want to welcome Lockheed Martin to Albuquerque in this new role. They have, for many years now, been good corporate partners through their stewardship of Sandia National Labs. Lockheed Martin is a good choice for various reasons, but their relationship and existing presence in our state will prove beneficial to New Mexico.”
Wilson said today she will ask the FAA to expand the Albuquerque operation and bring jobs from the current 58 AFSS sites into the 20 chosen locations, of which Albuquerque is one.
