| New Mexicans can send high-tech Holiday Greetings to American Troops |

| Wilson records message to member of 150th Security Squadron
Albuquerque, NM -Congresswoman Heather Wilson today encouraged New Mexicans to send holiday greetings to American troops stationed abroad and within the continental United States. Whether you have a family member or a loved one serving in the U.S. Military, or you`d simply like to express your gratitude to the men and women of our nation`s armed forces, you can participate in "Message From America" this holiday season.
Today, America is once again leading the world in a battle for freedom," said Wilson. "New Mexicans serve their country, and that`s something we can all be proud of. This program presents a wonderful opportunity for New Mexicans to tell our men and women in uniform that we support them, that we have not forgotten about them, and that we appreciate the sacrifices they`re making to defend the freedoms we cherish as Americans. And it`s a great chance to give them a small taste of home during the holidays."
Wilson joined a New Mexico wife and father to record a message for a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard`s 150th Security Squadron. The soldier is currently stationed in the Middle East. Last year at this time a significant portion of the Squad was on active duty serving in Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. At the time, Wilson joined family members of 150th personnel to record messages for their loved ones.
This year, New Mexicans can once again participate in the project, dubbed Message From America, by visiting the Circuit City Superstore in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
From December 1, 2002 through New Year`s Eve, 2002, New Mexicans can visit the Albuquerque store to videotape holiday greetings and messages of support for the U.S. armed services. The messages will be collected, edited and shared with troops around the world through the American Forces Radio and Television Service and the USO. Some messages also will be shown on CBS television. In addition, military families may record personalized messages at Circuit City stores, which will be transferred to DVDs that the families can easily mail directly to their loved ones.
There is no charge to the public to record the greetings. Message From America is supported by a coalition of companies, consisting of Circuit City, CBS and Sony Electronics, and conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense and the USO.
"Circuit City is honored to be able to devote our people and technology to boost the morale of military personnel and their families," said Kevin Allen, Store Manager at Circuit City`s Superstore in Albuquerque. "Brave Americans are serving our nation around the world, defending the freedoms that we enjoy at home every day. Message From America is a way we all can say, `Thank you.`"
