It was after ten o'clock on Thursday night and we were finishing votes on amendments to the Agriculture Appropriations bill.

The last vote before passing the bill is the motion to recommit -- the minority's last chance to make a change.

The motion to recommit had some appeal to conservative Democrats and the vote would be close. I was sitting in the front row as the fifteen minute clock ran down....

A Health Care Advantage for Seniors

It just might.  40% of seniors in the Albuquerque-area have a Medicare Advantage plan.  In the entire state, more than 57,000 seniors rely on Medicare Advantage.

Heather wants New Mexico-grown fruits and veggies in public schools


Heather recently purchased fresh produce at the La Montanita Co-op in Albuquerque’s North Valley and announced her support of the EAT Healthy Act.  The bill continues and expands previous congressional efforts to ensure an abundant and affordable supply of fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, and other specialty crops for American consumers.  Many of the EAT Healthy Act provisions have now been included in the 2007 Farm Bill
