New Congressional Website to Inform, Provide Constituent Services
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today announced her new online office to serve the people of New Mexico’s First Congressional District.
The new Website at Wilson.house.gov features an E-Newsletter and multimedia, constituent services, contact information, and issues updates.
“When I started this job nine years ago, my predecessor did not have a web site or a public e-mail address. Mail came in envelopes. Blackberries grew on bushes,” Wilson said.
The previous Wilson website, started in 2000, was recognized as one of the most informative in Congress. Wilson has sent out a regular e-news to a growing list and was writing a "postcard home" before the word "blog" was commonly known.
“Since then, the e-news has grown, internet speeds have increased and – with podcasts, blogs and YouTube – it was time to modernize again,” Wilson said.
The web site’s purpose is to provide excellent constituent service to New Mexicans, and be filled with easy to find information about what is going on in Congress that affects New Mexico.
