This weekend, you`ll have a chance to give New Mexico soldiers a little taste of home...
"Treats for Troops is a great way to let our soldiers—many of them members of our families, our co-workers, our neighbors—know we appreciate what they do for us and our country. --Heather Wilson

Kit Missile and Mike, from 100.3 The Peak’s morning show, will broadcast live from Coronado Center to collect Girl Scout Cookies to ship to our New Mexico Soldiers serving our country overseas.
Troops Helping Troops: Girls Scouts from an Albuquerque troop lined up to help at last year`s Treats for Troops event with 100.3 The Peak.
A military tent filled with Girl Scout Cookies will be set up between Banana Republic and The Gap where you can stop by to purchase a box of cookies for American Troops. Kit Missile and Mike, from The Peak, will live in the tent from 6am on Thursday, February 27th through 9pm on Saturday, March 1st.
All the money collected from the cookie sales will benefit New Mexico girl scouts. Volunteers from the Girl Scouts and the armed forces will be on hand to help sell the boxes of cookies and pass out information. All of the sold boxes of cookies will then be shipped courtesy of Mail Boxes Etc. to our American troops overseas.
Last year’s event sold more than 2,700 boxes of cookies, raising more than $8,100 for the Girl Scouts of Chaparral Council.
Pile o` Treats: The cookies piled up last year as New Mexicans sent American Troops a tiny taste of home. More than 2,700 boxes of Girl Scout cookies made their way to New Mexico`s men and women in uniform.
You`ll find Kit and Mike at Coronado Mall’s Center Court, top of the escalators, just outside The Gap and Banana Republic. They`ll sell cookies Thursday, February 27th from 6am-9pm, Friday February 28th from 6am-9pm, and Saturday March 1st from 9am-9pm.
Heather will visit Kit Missile and Mike to help sell some cookies at Coronado Center on Friday morning, February 28, at 9 am, so drop by to say hi, or tune in to 100.3 FM. |
