The House Natural Resources Committee, Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, led by Rep. Jim Costa (D-CA), will hold an oversight hearing on "The United States Geological Survey's Earthquake Hazards Program - Science, Preparation, and Response." In light of the recent destruction caused by earthquakes worldwide, the Subcommittee will examine efforts by the United States Geological Survey's Earthquake Hazards Program to minimize the tragic toll earthquakes can take on human life, property, and infrastructure.
