Albuquerque, NM-DVD’s are one of the hottest items today in home entertainment, but they’re also being used by New Mexicans to tell the men and women of our U.S. military that our country is grateful for their sacrifices this holiday season. Congresswoman Heather Wilson, through the Message from America program, will tape a greeting to active duty New Mexicans serving overseas. The Message from America program, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense and a coalition of private businesses, enables all Americans to videotape holiday greetings and expressions of support for the men and women of the Armed Forces. The messages will be shared with U.S. military personnel around the world via Armed Forces Network and the U.S.O. In addition, families with military IDs can record personal messages, which will be transferred to DVD’s for easy mailing to their personal heroes overseas. “Sixty years ago today America was attacked at Pearl Harbor,” said Congresswoman Wilson. “Today, America is once again leading the world in a battle for freedom. New Mexicans served in World War II, and they’re serving today. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for New Mexicans to tell our men and women in uniform that we support them, that we have not forgotten about them, and that we appreciate the sacrifices they’re making to defend the freedoms we cherish as Americans.” More information on this public service initiative will be available at the Albuquerque Circuit City Store during this event.
