Hoosier organizations receive $1.37 million in Drug Free grants

Friday, July 25, 2008

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar’s office was notified today that 15 Hoosier organizations have been awarded Drug Free Communities (DFC) Support Program Continuation Grants from the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

The DFC Program provides grants of up to $100,000 to community coalitions that mobilize their communities to prevent youth alcohol, tobacco, illicit drug, and inhalant abuse.  The program acts as a catalyst for increased citizen participation to reduce substance abuse among youth, as well as providing drug-free community coalitions with funds to carry out their missions.
