A new challenge every day... October 30, 2001

Do you like to help others? Do you want to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment where you meet new people and face new challenges every day on the job? Are you bilingual? Are you energetic and friendly? Do you have excellent problem-solving skills? Then you might want to consider joining Rep. Heather Wilson’s staff as a caseworker in her Albuquerque office.
"The reception that I got when I called Heather`s office, and the follow-up from her staff, were great," says Barbara. "Knowing that her staff was available was just wonderful. I felt comfortable calling Heather Wilson`s office and knew that, if she could help, if what I was asking for was in her realm, that she would help my family. And I`m very grateful to Heather for that."

Barbara Geisler came to Congresswoman Heather Wilson’s office in December 1999 wanting help after her daughter ran into trouble with a government agency. Peggy Shepherd, one of Heather’s constituent liaisons, helped Barbara and her family. There are many people like Barbara, truly in need of assistance, but caught up within systems marked by excessive delays and red tape. A big part of Rep Wilson’s job as your member of Congress is to help people cut through that red tape and find common-sense solutions for people like Barbara`s family. Whether it’s dealing with the Veteran’s Administration, Social Security, or the immigration department, excellent constituent services is one of Heather Wilson’s hallmarks. Check Heather’s website for information about some of the commonly asked questions about federal government programs and benefits. Peggy Shepherd, Jane Altwies, and Holly Lawrence are caseworkers in Heather’s Albuquerque office. When you call looking for assistance, it’s likely one of them will help you. There’s a fourth caseworker position that is currently vacant. And we want you! You must be bilingual, with strong customer service skills, superb organizational and problem-solving skills and you should have experience in working as part of a team. If you or somebody you know is interested, please fax a resume and a letter of interest to our office at 505-346-6723 by November 12, 2001.
