Wilson Announces Housing Grant for Youth Building Program December 10, 2004

Albuquerque – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today announced a $500,000 grant for Youth Building Better Lives, Inc. in Albuquerque. The grant is through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s “Youthbuild” program, in which young adults from ages 16-24 work to complete their high school education while learning on-the-job construction skills. The students build or renovate single family homes or apartments. The new or remodeled homes are then sold at low prices to low-income families. “Congratulations to Youthbuild. We’re glad to see this support for their work here in Albuquerque,” Wilson said. Learn more about Youthbuild at http://www.youthbuild.org/.
