House Supports Wilson-Cosponsored ‘National Foster Parents Day’ Resolution
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Heather Wilson today welcomed House passage late Monday of House Resolution 179, which she cosponsored, supporting the establishment of a National Foster Parents Day.
“Dedicated foster parents can make a tremendous difference in a child’s life,” said Wilson, former head of the New Mexico Department of Children, Youth and Families and a former foster parent. “I cosponsored this resolution because Congress should recognize the important role of foster parents. Children need stable, healthy environments while they grow and learn. Foster parents help provide that for one child at a time.”
