Fair to provide Health Info to Seniors
Congresswoman Wilson has arranged for community members from different Health Care organizations to be on hand to provide services and health information to New Mexico seniors.

Rep. Wilson will also hold an open forum from 9:30am to 10:30am, where she will be available to answer questions about health issues facing the 107th Congress.

The Health Fair Day will take place at the Palo Duro Senior Center on January 16, 2001 from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The Palo Duro Senior Center is at 5221 Palo Duro NE, east of San Mateo on Palo Duro, 1 block north of Comanche. The Center is just behind the Erna Ferguson Library.


PARTICIPANTS IN THE HEALTH FAIR:


  • UNM Hospital – nurses and pharmacists will be on hand to provide blood pressure screening and prescription drug counseling.

  • UNM College of Nursing – nursing/staff from the Geriatric Evaluation and Health Maintenance (GEHM) Clinics and the College will be available for diabetes screening and health maintenance information for seniors.

  • St. Joseph`s Hospital -- Employees will be on hand to pass out literature and discuss healthcare options

  • St. Joseph`s Hospital Osteoporosis Center -- Employees will do heel/bone density tests

  • Lovelace Hospital –- Employees will be on hand to pass out literature and discuss health care options. Will also have handouts.

  • New Mexico Heart Hospital –- Employees will distribute literature and do body fat tests.

  • Cimmaron Select –- employees will be on hand to pass out literature and hand outs.

  • Tranquility’s -- massage therapist Jamie will be on hand.

  • NM Therapeutics -– massage therapist Joanne Leger will be on hand

  • HealthBreaks –- Massage therapist Kevin Reilly will be on hand
