Women ‘Inspiring Hope & Possibility’ in NM
March 08, 2004
Wilson seeks nominations for Women’s History Month
Albuquerque, NM -
Congresswoman Heather Wilson wants help this month to recognize some of New Mexico’s women who have improved their communities, but there are only two more days for nominations.
Wilson is accepting nominations to recognize women during Women’s History Month and plans to honor nominees on the floor of the House of Representatives later this month and present them with a congressional certificate. This year’s theme is “Women Inspiring Hope and Possibility.”
All nominations must be received no later than March 11, 2004. Nominees must be New Mexico residents and must be female. Nominations can be made posthumously. Those interested may obtain a nomination form on Wilson’s Web site: http://wilson.house.gov.
“This is a great way to say thank you to the many volunteers and unsung heroes who make our community so strong and increase the possibilities and opportunities for future generations,” says Wilson. “I hope that as many people as possible will join me in this effort and I look forward to learning about the many heroic women who have touched people’s lives across our great state.”
National Women’s History Month commemorates women who have served their community and have yet to be recognized for their work and good deeds.
